Handsome and Majestic by Salazar

In recognition of the Transgender Day of Remembrance/Resilience on November 20th, 2017 and the start of Trans Awareness Week, we are proud to release our short documentary entitled “Handsome and Majestic”. A multiple award-winning 12 minute film that has played at over 25 festivals worldwide from Manitoba to New Zealand, this short documentary profiles Milan, a 15-year-old transgender boy growing up in the northern Canadian city of Prince George, B.C.

As a recently transitioned transgender boy, Milan deals with discrimination from his peers and teachers at school, as he seeks to find other kids like himself. His parents are open and supportive throughout his transition, and his sister Lulu never questioned that Milan was her brother. However, at his elementary school, he must face the lack of education, intolerance and even assault. When Milan meets another transgender boy in his neighbourhood, he finally finds someone his age who understands and shares his experience. With the support of his friends and family, Milan has become a role model and an advocate for trans individuals in his small community and beyond.

As part of the release of the film, the filmmakers are also running a “GoFundMe” campaign in order to raise funds to get Milan fitted for a suit in New York City by renowned tailors Bindle & Keep, who specialize in suits for non-binary and trans people. After “Handsome and Majestic” screened alongside “Suited”, a feature documentary about them at Hot Docs Festival 2016, the tailors have generously offered to make Milan a suit of his own. Ghost Bikes by Ethan Brooks

There are over 150 white-painted bicycles chained up throughout New York City. Each bike represents a cyclist killed in traffic – each is placed at scene of the crash.

Mirza puts up the bikes. He remembers these fallen cyclists when everyone else seems to have forgotten them.

An unintentional surf film… sort of.

I created this film to explore long-form editing, give a home to so many projects/trips/travel that needed some context, and as a tip of the hat to my passion, surfing.

GoPro: Discovering the Mentawais in 4K by GoPro

“It takes a special sort of mindset to truly discover something” – Captain Martin Daly.

Martin Daly was born in Australia but has spent his life searching for some of the best undiscovered surf spots in the most remote parts of the world. He now runs a world renown surf charter business in Indonesia, the Indies Trader fleet. He takes us back to one of his earliest discoveries, the breaks off the coast of the Mentawais, and brings Felicity Palmateer, Mikala Jones, Marlon Gerber, Tatiana Weston-Webb, Anthony Walsh, and Kai Lenny along for the ride.

Acadia | Maine by 929Media

Acadia National Park is a 47,000-acre Atlantic coast recreation area primarily on Maine’s Mount Desert Island. Its landscape is marked by woodland, rocky beaches and glacier-scoured granite peaks such as Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the United States’ East Coast. Among the wildlife are moose, bear, whales and seabirds. The bayside town of Bar Harbor, with restaurants and shops, is a popular gateway.
