Thank you all so much! Because of Tim’s launch on Tuesday people were tagging me in posts about him, as a result of this I gained over 200 followers! I am so thankful of all of you! It may not be a lot to my friends around the globe, but every follower is important to me along this journey of mine to be the first #BritOnMars. Thank you all to each and every one of you! (I’m not waiting on @luminousdeity’s traditional milestone post for me 😂😉) by astro.luke

Shuttle Training Aircraft (STA.) Based on the #gulfstream2 platform. In flight only main landing gear would extend, leaving the nose retracted, and then the thrust reversers would be deployed to simulate the sink rate of the Shuttle. This one is based at the #texasair&spacemuseum in #Amarillo Texas. #N946NA #NASA #space #gulfstream by flaps5

A new chapter in space flight began in July 1950 with the launch of the first rocket from Cape Canaveral, Fla: the Bumper 2, an ambitious two-stage rocket program that topped a V-2 missile base with a Corporal rocket. The upper stage was able to reach then-record altitudes of almost 250 miles, higher than the International Space Station’s orbit.
