Muy pronto podremos observar al asteroide 2015 YB, ―de entre 8 a 18 metros de diámetro― acercándose a la Tierra. El mismo se aproximará este 19 de diciembre y volará a una distancia siete veces menor que la existente entre la Tierra y la Luna, informa el portal Planetarium-moscow.ru.

Descubierto el 16 de diciembre en un observatorio estadounidense, el asteroide se está aproximando a una velocidad de 14,45 kilómetros por segundo y no representa una amenaza para nuestro planeta. El asteroide forma parte de la constelación de Orión, pero por su pequeño tamaño solamente podrá ser observado mediante telescopios profesionales.
Por otra parte, a principios de diciembre, científicos de la #NASA advirtieron sobre el acercamiento a la Tierra del gigantesco asteroide 2003 SD2200 de 0,7 kilómetros de diámetro. El mismo pasará cerca del la tierra en vísperas de Navidad, y en caso de un potencial choque con nuestro planeta, podría destruir todo un continente.

من الواضح أن الرمل الداكن الذي تثيره الرياح،
يحيط بالصخور الفاتحة الرسوبية البارزة،
على امتداد أرضية فوهة القارة العربية..
من الواضح أيضاً،أن الصخور الفاتحة مكونة من عدة طبقات،
يُحتمل أن السفلى منها قديمة جدا . .

على الرغم من أن الرمل الداكن يشكل كثبانا،
إلاّ أن رؤيتها في الرمال الفاتحة أسهل وهي تحيط بالهضاب المتدرجة..
من الممكن أن الرمال المتطايرة ذاتها قامت بنحت التلال الطبقية من تلال أكبر..
معظم الرفوف الطبقية واسعة بما يكفي،
لقيادة شاحنة كبيرة حولها . .

Habitable planet outside our solar system: A Super Earth 4 times larger than our planet

Researchers have made an extremely important discovery by finding a Super Earthlocated just 14 light years away from our Sun. Wolf 1061c is officially the closest habitable planet outside of our solar system and has a mass four times larger than that of Earth. According to astronomers, Wolf 1061c sits within the habitable zone which means that it’s very likely that the planet has liquid water and the necessary conditions to support life as we know it. While researchers have found in the past planets that are much closer than Wolf 1061c, those planets are not considered as candidates to be habitable according to astronomers.

The orbits for the planets b, c and d (ordered from the inner planet to the outer) have periods of 4.9 days, 17.9 days and 67.2 days. In the simulation we show the planet orbits as all lying in a single plane. The planetary habitable zone around the star is marked in green – the colours grade from red (where a planet would be too hot), through green (where the surface of a planet could sustain liquid water), through to blue (where a planet would be too cold).

This Super Earth is the closest potentially habitable planet discovered outside of our solar system and increases the hopes of discovering in the near future a planet that could have developed life on its surface.

Today is a big day for this little moon! The Cassini Space Probe is set to do a fly through the southern ice plumes of Saturn’s moon Enceladus. Cassini will speed past the southern pole of Enceladus at an altitude of 3,106 miles.
