@nasa ’s fourth HI-SEAS simulated Mars Mission is a little over a third of the way through. This crew will stay in the dome for a duration of one year. Communication with the outside world is limited and all transmissions are delayed 20 minutes to simulate the delay between Earth and Mars.

Goodevening from the Netherlands! 🇳🇱 Just new information about Galaxy NGC4845 came up. The galactic core of NGC4845 is not just supermassive, but also superhungry. Researchers were observing another galaxy when they noticed a violent flare at the centre of NGC4845. The flare came from the central black hole tearing up and feeding off an object many times more massive than Jupiter. A brown dwarf or a large planet simply strayed too close and was devoured by the hungry core of NGC4845. #universe #universum #universe_NL #astronomy #nature #astronomer #astronomers #deepspace #sky #star #space #stars #science #skyporn #solarsystem #starcluster #mars #sterrenbeeld #solarsystem #supernova #cosmology #information #pluto #beautiful #backgarden #hubble #jupiter #nasa #ocean #holland #cosmology #cosmos by universe_nl

The next class of astronauts may fly on any of four different U.S. spacecraft during their careers: the International Space Station (@ISS), two new commercial spacecraft being built by U.S. companies, and NASA’s Orion deep-space exploration vehicle.

To date, we’ve selected more than 300 astronauts to fly our increasingly challenging missions to explore space and benefit life on Earth. More will be needed for future missions to the space station and beyond on our journey to Mars.
