Obsolete technology – this particular piece will never find its way to orbit, and is quite curious that it’s still taking up space on the SSPF (Space Station Processing Facility) main floor.

When the shuttle program was still active, a docking adapter like this would connect incoming vessels to the International Space Station, to allow safe passage of crew and materials from one to the other. Perhaps one day it will be designated to a museum, or be broken down for parts, but in terms of satisfying its primary objective – that will never happen.
