Ay yörüngesinden çekilen en yeni Dünya görüntüsü… Ay’ı 2009’dan bu yana gözlemleyen Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), dar açılı kamerasıyla çektiği fotoğrafla #Apollo 8 görevinin efsaneleşen #Earthrise karesini hatırlattı. Ay’ın yüzeyindeki detayları yakalamayı amaçlayan dar açılı kamerayı #Dünya’ya doğru çeviren LRO ekibi, elde edilen görüntüleri bir araya getirerek harika mozaiği oluşturdu. Fotoğrafın renklendirilmesi için, geniş açılı kamera ile elde edilen görüntülerden faydalanıldı…Ay ile Dünya’nın kendi eksenlerindeki dönüş hızının aynı olması, uydumuzun her zaman tek bir yüzünün bize dönük olmasına neden oluyor. Ay’dan bakıldığında, Dünya sanki Ay’ın üzerinde doğuyormuş gibi bir görüntü ortaya çıkıyor. İki gök cisminin yörünge hareketinden kaynaklanan bu durum, Earthrise gibi olağanüstü manzaraların da sebebi. LRO 2017’de sona erecek görevinde benzer bir fotoğraf çekmeyebilir. Bu durumda ABD, Çin ve Rusya’nın uzay aracı göndermesi beklenen 2020’li yılları bekleyeceğiz.
