Jedidah Isler- Astrophysicist who was the first #AfricanAmerican #woman to receive a Ph.D in astrophysics from #Yale where she completed an award winning study and was supported by fellowships from #NASA, the #NationalScienceFoundation and the #FordFoundation. Currently she is a postdoctoral fellow at #VanderbiltUniversity. Isler is an advocate for #empowerment and inclusion of students from underrepresented backgrounds in the sciences. She recently spoke out against #SupremeCourt Judge #Scalia’s remarks suggesting a slower track for African Americans.
