Posting an M42 photo like this is a very common thing, but hey, this is in my opinion the best nebula in the whole sky. A giant nebula that, under a dark night sky, can be seen with the naked eye, in the middle of Orion constellation. In its centre there are a lot of young stars just created in this stunning complex. A lot of photos of this nebula are pink/violet, but with the naked eye the colour appears grey inclined to green. A little further north there’s a small star cluster within another nebula, M43. The region is about 1340 light-years away and is estimated to be 24 light-years across
