My punishment feels now more like my fate. As a result of my self imposed banishment from the human race. I’m trapped here now, and I’ve accepted the fact that I’m forced to carry out a life sentence for all eternity, on a world so cold and unforgiving that my very soul aches in numbingly lonely torment. Trying desperately to clear my pessimistic thoughts of isolation. I shiver uncontrollably while simultaneously rubbing my hands together in hopes of garnering some sensations of warmth and comfort. Ignoring the extreme cold I find myself staring skyward, while being truly mesmerized at the illuminatingly celestial sight unfolding above me. The nebulas of deep space seemed to unfurl before me littered with dashes of sparkling colors as a result of which creating a kaleidoscope of colorful pigments along my near snow blind sight lines. „….So close yet…so far away…“ I whisper to myself through smoky labored breaths, while dreamily gazing at the twin cobalt spheres looming hauntingly beyond the skies boarders. My imprisonment here in my mind was just, the penalty for not preserving her love…for not protecting her heart. Those words alone caused tears to slowly form in my eyes as I nostalgically remember the feeling of her gentle frame in my arms again. Or the sweet lavender smell of her hair invading my frozen nostrils, stimulating the receptors of my lower frontal lobe, causing a cracked lipped smile across my frost bitten face. „…Octavia..“ I whispered into the howling wind but receiving no response, only startling a flock of birds nearby. As I watched them gracefully ascend to the heavens above, I suddenly felt a sickening feeling grip me. Realizing the weight of my failures now lay at my feet.
